Introductions are always polite. My name is Brad Flurry and I am the Discipleship Pastor at Kingsland Baptist Church in Katy, TX. I am a Follower of Christ, Husband, Father, Pastor, Marine, and Friend.

I focus my life around a few very important things to me:

My faith:  My hope is built on nothing less than Jesus Christ and His righteousness. My faith is the result of God’s gracious gift, and arises from no inherent goodness or cleverness of my own. I live only, therefore, by the grace of the one true, sovereign and merciful God, whom I rejoice to call my Father.

My family: I married a young lady I met in my 10^th grade Algebra class. I have never used Algebra a day in my life however I couldn’t make it a minute without Liz. She followed me around for almost 20 years while I played Marine…..numerous deployments, missed birthdays, anniversaries, and holidays….she is certainly the rock of our family. Liz and I are blessed with two amazing boys. We love all sports, family game nights, and any outside adventure.

My friends: Throughout my adventures in life I have been blessed with wonderful friends. The beauty of my friends is that not one of them is perfect and not one of them is the same. However the common thread among all of them is a commitment to things greater than themselves. Simply put….they make me better!

The main purpose of my blog is to share my experiences as they relate to leadership and life. I am conscious of the imperfections of my efforts – but my motivation is clear – to provide others a glimpse of the lessons I have learned with the hope they can in turn build better families, marriages, and friendships.  I once read that the lives of great men are an inspiration to the young.  I am by no means great, however the responsibility to inspire the young (my two boys specifically) still remains.
